Master Plumbers Lunch: 1 for 350

The Master Plumbers Association (SA) held their annual Presidents Lunch at the prestigious Magarey Room at Adelaide Oval on Friday 23rd October. Attended by over 350 people from across the plumbing industry the lunch was a great event and featured speeches from Andrew Fagan, Crows CEO, the great Merv Hughes and was anchored by Turf-master Les Burdett.

The entertainment was added to by the lunchtime performance of the Pipe Guy.

There were a host of awards for best 1st and 2nd year Apprentice, 3rd and 4th year apprentice and the coveted MPASA and CITB Gold Medal. Several 25 and 50 year member awards were given and a special Life Membership Award went to Trevor Driver, and ex president of the association. This was the first Life Membership granted in over a dozen years.
Merv Hughes was as funny as ever and insightful in his descriptions of former and current players. This lunch also marked the end of Dale Anderton’s successful 3 year reign as Association President.

The crowd enjoyed themselves and later drifted over the bridge into the city to continue the fun on this perfect October day. This was the 9th time I have managed and presented the AV support for this event since 2007 and continues a great working relationship with the team and Executive Officer Andrew Clarke. A big shout out also to Frances, Maddison, Crystal, Maddison, Steve, Marilyn and all the MPASA crew for their great work on and leading up to the event. Cheers also to the sponsors including Cooke Precast, GWA Kitchens and bathrooms, Toyota, SA Water, Rheem, Employers Mutual and many others who help support this event.
